Director

Katrina L. Gamble, PhD is the founder and CEO of Sojourn Strategies, an all-women-run social impact consulting firm. Sojourn Strategies works with progressive organizations and philanthropic institutions to build innovative campaigns, programs, and research. Katrina is a researcher and political strategist who brings more than 15 years of experience working at the intersection of social justice policy and elections – including serving as Political Director at the Center for Popular Democracy. Before moving into the social advocacy space, Katrina was an Assistant Professor at Brown University where she researched and taught classes on congressional politics, social movements, and race and ethnic politics. She has a Ph.D. and MA from Emory University and BA from Smith College.

Desmond Meade is a formerly homeless returning citizen who overcame many obstacles to eventually become the Executive Director of Florida Rights Restoration Coalition and lead a successful campaign to re-enfranchise 1.4 million returning citizens in Florida. His efforts led to him being named one of TIME Magazine 100 most influential people in the world, and a McArthur “Genius” Fellow.

Program Manager

Destiney Golden is the Project Manager for Research and Communications at Sojourn Strategies. Destiney helps manage and oversee powerful narrative and identity projects that help progressive organizations across the states build impactful programs that are informed by rigorous research. She works on rights restoration work to support organizations across the state with their campaign efforts.
