Building campaigns and organizing strategies to fight for restoration of rights across the country.
The Voter Justice Project focuses on four major goals:
Expand the number of formerly incarcerated people that have access to the franchise by winning campaigns to restore voting rights upon release and reducing barriers and restrictions on the right to vote in states where full restoration isn’t politically feasible.
Actively support organizations led by formerly incarcerated people to lead restoration of rights campaigns in a way that strengthens their capacity, impact, and political power and influence within their state.
Create a nationwide space for organizations leading restoration of rights campaigns across America to maximize impact and build a national narrative on restoration of rights.
Integrate automatic voter registration implementation that accurately captures formerly incarcerated people and explore implementation opportunities to maximize voter registration.
